Crightons extend cricket sponsorship and add Partners Programme discounts

Crightons have renewed their sponsorship of Nassington Cricket Club for the sixth year, and it is being linked with a unique offer to increase the club membership.

Managing Director Iain Crighton said: “Our sponsorship has always been targeted at the club’s successful youth development programme, but this year we are also linking it to the Crightons Partners Programme to help to build club membership.

“Members of our Partners Programme receive valuable discounts off the price of new Saabs.

The savings range from £1,652 to £4,317 and anyone joining Nassington Cricket Club will be eligible. The subscription for non-playing members is only £15 so it is a small investment with large benefits that are not just financial. It is a friendly club with great spirit, so members can watch entertaining cricket in the traditional friendly village environment.”

The Nassington club has seen the number of juniors attending coaching sessions and playing grow from three or four six years ago to around 50. There are now seven junior teams and some of the first youngsters to join the programme in 2002 have now moved into the senior teams.

The Under 14 team covered themselves in glory by battling their way to the title of Lords Taverners East Anglia Indoor Cricket Champions for 2008 in their age group. They were considered underdogs throughout the heats, but won their way to the final against Norfolk, who were favourites to win the title. The final went down to the last over when Nassington needed four runs to win, and that was scored off the very last ball!

Club Chairman Dominic McMullan said: “Iain Crighton’s continued support has allowed us to invest in youth practice facilities, playing surfaces, to qualify club members as ECB recognised coaches with the essential CRB checks. Without this we wouldn't be where we are now, and members of the club and the village can be rightly proud of Nassington Cricket Club.”

Iain says: “Crightons are also sponsoring Peterborough Rugby Club’s juniors, and we are planning to extend the Partners Programme to the Rugby Club as well.”
